Thyssenkrupp Elevator has been awarded a contract from IGA Havalimani Isletmesi to supply 143 passenger boarding bridges (PBBs) to Istanbul New Airport (INA) in Turkey.
This is its biggest-ever single order for PBBs, the company announced on 13 October 2016, worth a "double-digit million euro amount".
The PBBs will be manufactured to meet the latest international standards for gate equipment, including EN 12312-4.
Staff from Thyssenkrupp Elevator will be assigned to INA for "all key maintenance tasks … to ensure the optimal performance of the PBBs", the manufacturer added.
The new airport is due for completion in 2018.
