The SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) reports that 26 SESAR-related projects were fully implemented into daily air traffic management (ATM) operations by the end of 2016, representing an investment of EUR74 million (USD77 million).
This number will grow steadily in 2017 as more projects submitted in response to the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Calls 2014 and 2015 start to deliver during the year.
The SDM is tasked by the Commission to co-ordinate SESAR implementation, in order to maximise the benefits for the Single European Sky (SES) programme.
The two investment waves represent a total of EUR1.8 billion, of which EUR850.2 million is co-funded by the Commission, and they include 125 projects in 24 European states.
