The US Air Force (USAF) has ordered 32 liquid oxygen (LOX) trailers from Essex Industries.
St. Louis, Missouri-based Essex will begin deliveries of the 500-gallon trailers in August 2017, with completion scheduled for February 2018.
The value of the deal was undisclosed. The USAF will use most of the trailers at airbases in the United States, although some will be deployed overseas in Italy, Japan, Oman and South Korea.
Designed for the transport and storage of LOX at airbases and military installations, the 500-gallon trailer "provides a logistics solution for flight line LOX requirements", Essex stated.
